Do you use the word “awesome” in daily conversations? It means “inspiring awe” or “dread“. The word’s origin dates back to 1500s. It originally means “profoundly reverential (=respectful)”. Its meaning began to change in 1950s and it simply became “very good” or “impressive” particularly in colloquial speech. The Turkish equivalent of the word is “çok güzel“, “müthiş“, “harika“, “mükemmel“. Here are some awesome examples for you: Reading ten books every month is an awesome experience. Never before have I seen such an awesome scene! Your little kitchen looks awesome!
