OPHELIA PARAPHERNALIA BLOG: Welcome to my first blog post. You will read about my biggest regret here. You will read about my biggest joys. And more to come …
Ophelia’s Blog Post #1: Everyone has regrets.
Everyone has regrets. It’s a part of being a human. My mother always talks about how she regrets giving us to our father and how she wishes she had kept us. Constantly hearing these things made me hate the idea of talking about my regrets, but keeping in the guilt for so long has made me spiral.

My biggest regret is not realizing that my stepmother was sick. There were so many signs like the constant headaches, the eyelid dropping, her constantly laying in bed. I had promised her that she would come back but she never did. I’m so scared that one day I’ll wake up and forget her face or her voice. The laugh that she had always greeted me with will fade from my memories with I know and I’m so afraid and angry at myself. I am who I am thanks to her and If I forget her I’ll never let myself live it down. She would’ve wanted me to take care of my father and siblings so that’s what I’m doing. Up until my last breath which may be sooner or later than some people expect, I will cherish the memories we made, as that is the most I can do.
Best.
Ophelia.

Final notes by VoKaPedia. Last but not least, here are several more poetic quotes on the importance of expressing love, truth, and gratitude while our loved ones are still alive:
1.”Do not keep the alabaster boxes of your love and tenderness sealed up until your friends are dead.” — Henry Ward Beecher (USA, 1800s)
2. “Bir gün bakarsın, söyleyemediğin her şey için geç kalmışsın.”
(“One day you’ll see — it’s too late for everything you never said.”) — Can Yücel (Türkiye) (1900s)
3.”To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die — but to be truly loved, let us not wait till then.”
— Thomas Campbell (Scotland, paraphrased) (1700s – 1800s)
4.”The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone.”
— Harriet Beecher Stowe (USA, 1800s)
5.”Tell someone you love them today, because tomorrow is not promised.” — Anonymous
