The more we embrace our beloved ones, the better we feel and we are embraced passionately even from a distance.

Have you ever used the word “embrace” in your own sentence? Do you know the origin of the word “embrace” . The word “embrace” comes from Latin “inbracchium”. It literally means “in arm” . The word embrace is a word dating back to 1300s. It means “hold in arms” or “hug“. The Turkish equivalent of the word as a verb is “kucaklamak“, “sarılmak“, “bağrına basmak“, “kabullenmek“, or “benimsemek“. As a noun, the word “embrace” means “kucak”, “aguş”, or “sarılma” in Turkish.

Here are some examples in English:

  1. You must embrace the opportunities presented by your new school.
  2. We decided to hold each other in a tender embrace forever.
  3. We have come to embrace everyone.
  4. It was a small island in the embrace of the sea.
